Accident and Supplemental Health Insurance
Cash benefits that sit on top of your main coverage.
Supplemental plans pay benefits when a covered event happens, such as an accident, a hospital stay or a diagnosis. They are designed to help with costs your main coverage leaves open, not to replace it.
New York licensed agent and broker
- Accident insurance

- Hospital indemnity
- Pays a set amount for each covered day in the hospital.
- Critical illness
- Pays a lump sum on diagnosis of a covered condition, subject to the policy's definitions and waiting periods.
- Covered events
- Policies pay for the events they define. Read the definitions.
- Exclusions and waiting periods

- Benefit amounts
- Fixed amounts may not match your actual bills.
- Cost versus likelihood
- A low premium still buys little if the covered event is unlikely to apply to you.
People with high-deductible plans, self-employed people, and families who want a cash cushion for out-of-pocket costs. We explain what each product pays so that you can decide whether it adds value.
Is accident insurance the same as health insurance?
No. It pays set benefits for covered accidents and does not replace comprehensive health coverage.
Do the benefits go to the hospital?
Typically they are paid to you, and you decide how to use them. Check each policy.
We work in your best interest. At or before the time of application we will tell you whether we are acting as your broker or as the insurer's agent, and whether we receive compensation from the insurer. You can ask for details of our compensation at any time (New York Regulation 194).
